In fact, a new study indicates that drinking one glass of a low sodium juice made from vegetables can increase weight loss.The study was comprised of adults who were overweight and trying to lose weight. Of the individuals in the study who followed a standard diet of lower calories, those who drank vegetable juice managed to lose four pounds over a 12 week period. The other group who followed the same diet but did not drink the vegetable juice lost only one pound during the same period of time.
According to the study, some of those who drank the vegetable juice started seeing pounds drop dramatically.
Two of the suggested reasons for this are that vegetable juice increased the intake of potassium and Vitamin C and also decreased the carbohydrate intake.
Weight loss with vegetable juice is achieved in a number of other ways, including boosting your energy levels to make you more active overall, as well as balancing the acids that are stored in fat cells. When your body is more energized, it can burn off more calories. This is why starvation diets do not work. The body shuts down because it is not getting proper nutrients, making it difficult for the dieter to lose more than a few pounds
Another reason why drinking vegetable juice can help you lose weight is because it helps to reduce your appetite. On top of that, it is a healthy way to lose weight because those who drink vegetable juice are more likely to get the servings they need of vegetables on a daily basis and therefore the essential nutrients that many dieters miss out on.
